The Best Indian Food in the Mid-Atlantic. I have lived from Californa to New York and from Toronto to Atlanta and never have I found a resturant that serves better Indian cusiene. Aside from the phenomonal food the service can't be beat. The hospitality is overwhelming and if you desire to change a menu item they can usally accomadate you. This is a great resturant for vegs. I no onger live in the Baltimore area but everytime I come back to town I make several trips there. While away I dream about their food and count down until my next visit.

Great Indian Food at Great Prices. My wife and I live in Federal Hill and we go to Banjara at least once every 2 weeks. Now, that's a lot considering all the choices in this neighborhood. The service is always great and the food is even better. I usually get some kind of kabob - either lamb or chicken and it comes out on a hot sizzling plate.

They have a small wine selection, but it's inexpensive. They also have a 30 oz. Taj Mahal Indian Beer that I usually get also.

Definately worth the trip.

An Indian restaurant with a large variety of spicy entrees, exotic decor and superior service, all for a moderate price.. The Scene
This ornate Indian restaurant looks too pretty to be a dining room, with delicate Indian artwork adorning the bar, walls and tables. The atmosphere is mellow and is enhanced by the soothing Indian background music. Service is prompt and efficient.

The Food
Banjara offers a wide variety of dishes made with seafood, chicken, lamb, and beef, as well as vegetarian entrees. Shaki Korma, a famous Indian lamb dish, is served in a creamy sauce with nuts and raisins. The sauce is exquisite, with the perfect amount of seasonings, but the lamb is a bit tough. The Raita salad (yogurt) is unexpectedly delicious, and if you are looking for a flaky and tasty starter, try the Samosa, the crisp Indian pastry filled with spicy potatoes and peas (meat or vegetarian). Don't miss the lengthy list of different kinds of Nan, which will be sure to compliment any Indian entrée.
