authentic and unique
by charmcity1
I have been going to the Daily Grind for a while now and visit at least every week. It is a great old building with a lot of charm and although it is not shiny and brand new that is what makes it fun. The staff is friendly and knowledgable with an intresting and diverse look. If you are looking for something out of the "norm" conserative coffee shop this is the best place in Baltimore to go. If you're not sure what you want ask the girl with pink hair for help, she is very helpful with great suggestions.
- Pros: service and location
- Cons: bathrooms and parking
My favorite

Of all the coffee shops in Baltimore, the Fells Point Grind has been my favorite for years. The one in Canton is neat, but Fells Point is the best. It may be worn, but what do you expect from a coffee shop in the historical section of the city? And as for the new owners letting it "fall apart" I just think you're over reacting. It's a historical building, it's never going to be new and shiny without hundreds of thousands of dollars being poured into it?. Coffee shops are supposed invoke inspiration, as fells point does. The one in Canton just seems like a great backdrop for a fifteen year old girl's myspace pictures. The Daily Grind in Fells point delivers me good coffee, good coveration and a place with character and history.
- Pros: Staff, Hours, Great Breakfast
- Cons: Bathrooms
What happened? It's dirty and the coffee and food is awful!

The Daily Grind in Fells Point used to be really cool, but now it's like the owners are letting it fall apart. It's filthy inside, windows and furniture are broken and the coffee and food is awful. Thankfully, a new Daily Grind has opened in Canton. It's in the old Firehouse. It's the coolest place! The ambiance is amazing. It's set up with an old firehouse feel. The decor is great, shabby chic couches, really clean, friendly staff, homemade sandwiches and salads, gourmet desserts like Dangerously Delicious Pies, Jr's cheesecake from NY and Moxley's Ice Cream. They even have a fireman sliding down a pole. If you want great coffee in a cool coffee house, forget the Daily Grind in Fells Point...head over the Daily Grind in Canton on O'Donnell Square.
- Pros: In the heart of Fells Point
- Cons: Filthy, Dirty, sub-par food, barely okay coffee
Great place for coffee and a snack/breakfast.

The staff are well trained and very plesant. I feel welcome any time day or night and they are open late. They have fresh bagels and other tasty treats as well.
- Pros: cost
- Cons: friendly staff, easy parking, good coffee
