HISTORIC EXPERIENCE
by wordsworth at Citysearch
We had a great stay here, after getting our room changed from postage stamp size to liveable. The second room was really beautiful, except for the closet, which looked like it was in a fishing cottage, very rough and strange (also smelly). The heat was unable to be turned off or even down, so they helped us open a formerly nailed shut window. Luckily there was a breeze off the water, but without that, we would have suffocated. The room temp had rocketed to 87. Our room was third floor on the corner of Broadway and Thames. Beautiful view. Since the building is so old, there are interesting architectural features that come along with it. Most are wonderful, but then there are a few that one might want to consider, especially if they can't sleep with noise. The Bars on the water close down about 2am and you can hear almost every word all the noisy drunks are shouting as they head out. Also, the doors to the rooms don't block out any noise coming from the hall, because there is a 2-4 inch space at the top, due to the shifting of the building over the years. Quaint and authentic, but very noisy. The walls are so thin, we could hear the next door occupants phone conversations and their conversations with each other, whether we wanted to or not. We didn't do much talking in our room while we were there. On the positive side, the breakfast bar was excellent, the lobby particularly beautiful and the location phenomenal.
- Pros: Authentic, Friendly, helpful staff, good breakfast
- Cons: Noisy!

I have attended on several occasions conferences in the Baltimore area. My preference is the Admiral Fell Inn. The staff are cordial and very willing to assist in every way possible. The choices in rooms vary. As you walk the halls you are living a bit of Baltimore's own history.
- Pros: valet parking, fine resturants, water taxis
