Terrible Service.
My first experience at Spa on the Avenue was terrible, but I decided to go back for my nieces' first manicure and pedicure. I figured they are kids, the services aren't complicated, and they are the
only spa in the area. What could go wrong?
Once again, we received the most horrendous service. They took the girls back, put their feet in the tubs and then left them there for 25 minutes before returning. After working on their feet for about 10 minutes, they covered them with towels and then disappeared for ANOTHER 25 minutes. I went to the front desk to see if they could help, to which I received the response "I am not sure what you want me to do about it." I then tried to find someone - anyone else - who worked there. Finally, I approached two women, asked if they worked there, to the response "Yeah, why?" As soon as I mentioned the long delay, the two technicians suddenly reappeared from their break room and went back to work.
On to the manicures... during the manicure, our technician was informed that her 5:00pm appt was here and getting angry - as it was now 5:30pm. From that point on, both technicians complained throughout the manicure about "these little girls getting pedicures and french manicures and designs and how is she supposed to be on time?" (Forgetting of course the 50 minutes she left them sitting at the pedicure station).
I said nothing throughout, hoping to fake a good time for my nieces. However, when we left, and I asked them if they had a good time, their response was "Well I didn't really like the ladies, they complained ALOT and left ALOT."
ONE ADDITION: I just called to complain - which I have never in my life called a business to complain - and the manager told me all the reasons why my complaints were invalid and that she couldn't do anything about it and would leave a note for someone else. "I'm sorry" was never said.
My special treat for the girls' birthday was ruined by the continued poor service delivered by Spa on the Avenue. Unfortunately, they are basically the only spa in the area and seem to feel good service is not necessary.…
Excellent service. I get many services done here- hair, facials, massage, and waxing. I have never been disappointed. Pam does my hair and is EXCELLENT! I highly recommend her. I am always pleased.
Rebekka. Rebekka is a fabulous stylist and a color master! She has been doing my hair for years and I won't let anybody else touch it!

She has been doing the color and styling on my hair for years, I have never been disappointed. I now have my husband and granddaughter going to her. We have never had a bad experience when using any of the services at Spa On The Avenue!…

Wonderful Experience. I have been here a few times now with the same hair stylist, Stephanie. I first came when I tried dying my hair on my own & it turned out horrible!! Steph fixed it fantastically! I even have a callic (sp idk??) in my bangs that I have never let anyone cut b/c I grew up with my mom always cutting it & messing it up! No prob for Steph! She did perfect! Ever since I have been going to her for my hair, I have had heads turning every day! Thanks Steph! See ya soon :-D…
Best Brazilian Wax Ever!!. I've been going to the same girl for 5 years for a brazilian wax. Her name is Rebecca (or Becky) and I love, love, love, love her!!! First of all, she is the sweetest girl you will ever meet. You can tell she loves what she does and she does it well. The first time I ever got a wax was with her and she made me feel so comfortable and worked with me through the process so it was as painless as possible. 5 years later, I love seeing her on my 4 week appointments. We just talk and laugh and before you know it, she is finished and my wax job looks beautiful once again. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a brazilian waxer......I will NEVER go to anyone else!!…
Just Ok.
After reading the good reviews for this place I had to check it out. Being new to the area I had been putting off getting a haircut for a while, back home I had been going to a place that I loved
and so I have pretty high expectations. I cant complain, the service was fine, but I really wasn't impressed. When I arrived the receptionist was not particularly welcoming, but I checked in and was brought to the shampoo area within 10 minutes of my appointment time. Walking back to the shampoo area the one thing I couldn't help but notice is that they really need someone to sweep in between cuts and the stations are very cluttered. To me this makes the space the exact opposite of relaxing, but I am somewhat of a neat freak. The shampoo was good, the head massage was nice.
The girl that did my hair was ok and very welcoming and friendly, but I am more accustomed to someone who can make suggestions about new styles that would look good on me. I really think this place is better for someone who can bring a picture and ask for something very specific, rather than ask for advice, this being the case I really didn't think that it was worth the money. In the end the cut was fine, but nothing special. Really aside from the attractive salon space you might be just as well off going to the mall.…
best pedicure and friendliest staff in white marsh.
so i started out at spa on the avenue for hair overhaul and facial. hair was beautiful and the facial was relaxing. im new in the area and my new neighbor referred me. i hear salon by debbie has a
great reputation in the baltimore area and their business is growing. my esthetician told me they have a new location opening early next year. cant wait to see it but the spa on the avenue will be my permanent home.
on my way out of my last visit i checked out the pedicure area. im in need before vacation. the staff back there was friendly and smiling. i could tell right away that its a close knit staff that are good at what they do. i booked my pedicure appointment for the next week. when i arrived for my pedicure i saw kelly. she was very professional and has a gentle technique which is important to my sensitive feet. i was originally booked for their signature pedicure but upgraded to the mango butter pedicure and im glad i did! not only did it include a shea butter massage but also a warm paraffin dip and i got to close my eyes while warmed booties sealed in the moisture. after that, nancy was open for SHELLAC! thats a new gel polish that gives you a two week manicure... its been two weeks and i just made my next appointment to have my color changed. nancy was very educated about the services she performed and also recommended i try reflexology for my constant sinus headaches...that place does it all!
after my experiences with spa on the avenue i will highly recommend them to anyone who asks...and in case santa claus is starting to look for stocking stuffers, a spa on the avenue gift card is number one on my list!…
