semi-secret treasure-spot

We're planning to revisit OMC this evening. I've only been there a very few times, but each time the dishes were surpassingly delicious, with what I might describe as a 'lightness' on the palate.
Seeing a 'one-star' review made me sorry for the unfortunate who didn't give the place a try when he was so close.
Anyone who tries this place will have already gotten far enough past any preconceptions to be ready for the treat in store for them!
FABULOUS!

One word - EXCEPTIONAL! Everything was perfect: service, food, atmosphere. One of the best places I have dined in a really long time! Get the dessert that's like Baklava but with shredded philo...Fabo!!
Best restaurant in Towson, one of the best in Baltimore

I lived in Balto for 10 years, have been gone for eight, and my wife still misses Orchard Market . It is., as the other reviewer said, a very personal place. The waiter she mentioned, I would bet $10, is the co-owner Jason. (His mother in law used to be the chef and may still be).
It's the best value in Baltimore, period. Romantic from the smell of the spices up. Friendly, since the owners really do know the regulars and love to explain the menu (Jason was and I'm sure still is a passionate evangelist for a cuisine most people know little about). A ton of food for the price. Try the eggplant chicken and the chicken ishfahan, though you can try pretty much anything confidently.
Put it this way. I was sitting in OMC one night looking at a table where Donna Crivello, the owner of Donna's, and Sun restaurant critic Elizabeth Large were having dinner. And neither one of them was working. This is one of the places -- and the only one, pretty much, in Baltimore County -- where Baltimore people who really know food hang out on their own time and their own dime.
Wonderful restaurant!

This little place is hidden away behind Gardiners on E.Joppa Road. The food is wonderful. Flavorful and inexpensive! Our waiter was really warm, friendly, chatty and that just added to the ambiance. This was our first time here and we did see quite a few regulars who the waiter knew by name. We loved everything we tried and the waiter very patiently explained the dishes to us. You should definitely try it out!
- Pros: inexpensive, fast and friendly service
- Cons: none
No market any more, only the restaurant

Just wanted to say don't waste your time going to get anything from the market. It no longer exists. I don't know what the food is like, I didn't stay for it. I had to choose a rating, so I chose 1 star.
