While Grimaldis has great pizza the service is horrible. You are packed in like sardines. When you are seated you are met with rude waiters who have no personality whatsoever. One waiter told a group of women that "everyone waits for this pizza, if you want fast pizza go to Pizza Hut". If you want great pizza, go here but if you are looking for a nice place to eat, go to another location. I will try a different location. The pizza is not worth it...
Pros: great pizza
Cons: service, no room to eat

Rule #1 when in NYC, walk the Brooklyn Bridge!! Rule #1 when you get to Brooklyn, GO TO GRIMALDI'S PIZZERIA!!!!! When we were walking on Fulton Street, we didn't even realized that we were passing Grimaldi's, because we were too busy staring at the Manhattan skyline. We walked down to the river, then back up and saw a huge line. We debated over whether we should stand in line or not. We said "what the heck" and did it anyway. By the time I had turned around, after about five minutes, the line was clear around the corner. Here's where it's interesting. The guy that was seating everyone, had it down to a "science". We were seated in 15 minutes. We thought we might be rushed, but we weren't. Fun tip: go to the bathroom. Even if you don't have to "go", act like you have to. You have to walk right by (or stand, if someone is in there) the pizza chefs. It's so interesting watching how they make the pizzas! They too, have it down to a science. The food is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!! My husband and I are such pizza critics!! We loved this place more than any pizza we've had here.
Pros: Best Pizza...not just in NYC, but EVERYWHERE!

Grimaldi's pizza is awesome! Be prepared to wait on line, especially on Friday and Saturday nights. Although the wait is a drag and the place is small and cramped it is well worth it.
Pros: Tastey Pizza, nice view of seaport
Cons: No parking, small/cramped seating, line

I would NOT recommend Grimaldi's. First, the pizza was gross. The sauce was flavorless and watery, thus making the crust soggy and cold right away. There was nothing to make it special...there are way better pizza places in NY. Second, you're packed elbow to elbow with loud, annoying tourists, with house music blasting in the background making the whole experience of sitting there entirely unpleasant. Third, the service was horrendous. It took 40 minutes to bring our pizza, then 2 minutes after they plunked the bill down and we were still sipping our wine and this old guy comes over and lifts up our check and says "let's wrap this up ladies." It was unbelievably rude. Take my advice, don't waste your time with this touristy place with disgusting pizza!
Pros: crust is good, price is right
Cons: food, service

I have been living in NY for a while and this is by far the bext pizza I have had. I have been to Grimaldis several times with visitors from out of town. The service is fast......maybe not as accomodating and friendly as other places....but hey thats not you are paying for in this place. The food is amazing........pizza clearly the only food to order! Go there! Everyone I have brought there are always impressed and blown away!

The guy who was seating people was totaly rude. He literally told us to leave because he had 100 people waiting outside. He even obnoxiously stared us while we were finishing our drink, and he came back again and said he needed this table right now. Very rude. We'll never go back there again. They even pushed us into two peole table(we were three), and when we got to the table and my friend politely ask the guy sitting next to her to move a little bit, he got mad. Worst experience ever.

My husband and I were there a few weeks ago. We just happen to walking in the area and decided to drop in for a slice. One of the best pizzas we ever had! Very highly recommended.

Classic NYC, smoky flavored, thin crust pizza, baked in a coal fired brick oven. Pizza is made with their own sauce, as well as fresh mozzarella and basil. Grimaldi’s is in DUMBO, just over the Brooklyn Bridge, and can easily serve as a jumping off point for a great walk (or bike ride) into the city, and a view of the new Waterfalls exhibit on display through the fall. And don’t forget that Jacques Torres chocolate factory is nearby, and the Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory on the Pier. For more information, go to: www.thefoodbully.blogspot

On a nice summer day, I can think of few other places I'd rather have lunch. I stroll through Brooklyn Heights with my buddies, get on what is always a long, but fun line for conversation and horsing around, take turns playing frisbee as we wait, and once we get in, its satisfying cold beers all around and of course, the best pizza in Brooklyn. I can't describe it as anything other than just a feeling of being at home. You sit down, packed in with all the other customers around you like you're all family, and you just feel comfortable. Comforted by good company and an ice cold, thick Brooklyn lager in one hand, and a perfectly baked brick oven slice with melting cheese and mouth watering toppings in the other. After, drag your satisfied butt over to the pier to digest over an ice cream cone and a serene view of the Brooklyn Bridge and Manhattan. Sigh....
